Portfolio Task 3

The graph and table shows the number of fishermen in millions for different regions between the years 1970, 1980 and 2000 and the world’s top ten exporters of fish in 2000. In this essay, I will outline the information in the graph and table.
The graph shows that there was a huge increase in the number of fishermen in Asia between 1970, 1980 and 2000. For example, there were about 11 million fishermen, 14 million fishermen and 26 million fishermen respectively. On the other hand, in Africa the number of fishermen fell rapidly from 1970 to2000. To explain more, in1970 there were about 12 million fishermen while in 2000 there were about 3 million fishermen. However, in South America the number of fishermen remained the same.
The table shows that the highest number of fish being exported is from Thailand in 2000. For instance, the highest number of fishermen comes from Asia and it’s about 26 million fishermen. Secondly comes Norway in the list of the world’s top ten exporters of fish in 2000. Finally, the lowest number of being exported in the year 2000 is from South Korea.
All in all, in my opinion I think the highest number of fishermen and fish being exported is from Asia.
